ALLIANCE, OH (September 3, 2005) - The Case Western Reserve University women's volleyball team began their 2005 season tonight with an opening round win at the Mount Union College Invitational. The Spartans defeated Kenyon College 30-24, 30-26, 30-26.
They lost their second and final match of the evening to Defiance College 30-27, 19-30, 14-30, 24-30. Case opened the second day of competition with a three-set loss
30-27, 30-22, 32-30 to Waynesburg College. In their final match against Westminster College, the Spartans were defeated
30-13, 21-30, 30-17, 30-23 to finish sixth in the tournament.
Case will return to action next weekend when they travel cross-town to the Baldwin Wallace College Tournament.
