WASHINGTON 1, #5 CASE 0 (2OT)...
ST. LOUIS, MO (October 28, 2007) -
The No. 5 ranked Case Western Reserve University men's soccer team (12-4-1) fell to Washington University (13-4-1) this afternoon in double overtime, as the Bears came away with a 1-0 victory. 
It was a defensive battle, with Zeyad Schwen (Cincinnati, OH – pictured) and the Spartan defense holding the Bears scoreless through the first overtime, but in the 104th minute Washington's Harry Beddo headed an Elie Zenner free kick past senior goalkeeper Chad Skidmore (Centerville, OH) to give the Bears the win at home. Skidmore tallied three saves on the afternoon.
The loss drops the Spartans to 3-3 in the University Athletic Association, while bringing the Bears to 4-1-1.
Washington totaled 15 shots on the afternoon (five on goal), while the Spartans managed only five shots (four on goal).
The Spartans will take on the University of Rochester at Case Field on Nov. 3. The game is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
