#15 CASE 4, EMORY 1...
CLEVELAND, OH (October 29, 2006) -
The Case Western Reserve University men's soccer team (15-2-1, 4-2-0) kept its NCAA tournament hopes alive by defeating Emory University 4-1 (11-4-0, 2-4-0) today in Atlanta. The Spartans played like a team who plans on prolonging their season. Sophomore forward RJ French (Zionsville, IN-pictured) scored the first goal for the Spartans at the 42:54 mark.
Once play resumed in the second half freshman forward Pranav Lohitsa (West Bloomfield, MI) scored a goal off an assist from French, and a mere five minutes later sophomore midfielder Matt Paglia (Pittsburgh, PA) would add another goal. Emory's Patrick McFarland would spoil the Spartans shutout bid but, Case's sophomore forward Kevin Bigart (Naperville, IL) would answer with a goal on a penalty kick.
The Spartans last scheduled regular season game is November 4 against the University of Rochester at 7:00 p.m.
