CLEVELAND, OH (October 13, 2006) -
Case Western Reserve University (10-2-1, 1-2) lost a physical game to Washington University (7-3-1,1-2) 2-0 at Case Field. It is the first game of the season that the Spartans have allowed more than one goal.
The game was scoreless at halftime, but eleven minutes into the second half Washington University midfielder Kellen Hayes scored an unassisted goal to break the tie.  Case continued to battle for the rest of the second half taking several shots on goal. Sophomore Kevin Bigart (Naperville , IL-pictured) had four shots, two on goal. Unfortunately, they could not convert those shots into goals. Washington defender Ellie Zenner capped the scoring with a goal at the 88:10 mark.
The Spartans will look to bounce back this Sunday, October 15 at Case Field at 1:30 p.m. against the University of Chicago.
