NYU 1, CASE 0...
CLEVELAND, OH (October 8, 2006) -
Case Western Reserve University (10-1-1, 1-1 in the UAA) lost their first game of the year 1-0 to the New York University Violets (10-1, 2-0 in the UAA) this afternoon at Case Field. New York sophomore defender Adam Dhanens scored the only goal of the game at the 9:37 mark. The rest of the half, a very physical game unfolded and shots were hard to come by for both teams.
In the second half, the Spartans got in a better offensive rhythm with sophomore forward RJ French (Zionsville, IN) and junior midfielder Neal Duryea (Cheswick, PA-pictured), both taking solid shots on goal. Unfortunately, the Spartans could not find the back of the net.
Case will look to bounce back at home October 13 (7:00 p.m.) against UAA foe Washington University.
