CASE 2, BRANDEIS 1...
CLEVELAND, OH (September 30, 2006) -
Sophomore forward Kevin Bigart (Naperville, IL-pictured) helped the Spartans stay undefeated (9-0-1) and tie a school record with 9 wins, when he converted a penalty kick at the 55:20 mark to give Case a 2-1 victory over Brandeis University in Boston. Sophomore midfielder Nate Hoffman (Wilmington, DE) scored the first goal of the game (22:50) off an assist from Bigart. Bigart already has seven goals and six assists this season.
Case's shutout streak ended at seven, when Brandeis defender/midfielder Brett Fitzgerald scored on a penalty kick at 33:48. However, that was only the second goal the Spartans have allowed all season. The Spartans are now 1-0 in University Athletic Association play.
Case will look to continue their winning ways October 3 at
