QUEENS, NY (October 8, 2005) - Case Western Reserve University freshman forward Kevin Bigart (Naperville, IL) scored a goal off a header in the 84th minute today in Queens, New York, to help the Spartans upset New York University 1-0 in a University Athletic Association road match.
New York entered the game ranked 22nd in the country (Division III). The Violets fall to 8-3-1 (0-2 UAA) on the year, while Case improves to 6-4-2 (1-0-1 UAA). The Spartans travel to Washington University in St. Louis next Saturday for a 5:30 p.m. match.
Case junior defender Scott Christensen (Rochester, NY) got the assist on Bigart's goal, his seventh score of the season. Spartans sophomore goalkeeper Chad Skidmore (Centerville, OH) played all 90 minutes in goal recording five saves.
