CLEVELAND, OH (October 5, 2005) - The Kenyon Lords handed the Case Western Reserve Spartans their first loss at Case Field with a 1-0 Lord victory this evening. With the loss, Case drops to to 5-4-1 on the year while Kenyon improves to 3-4-4.
Kenyon's lone goal came off a penalty kick in the 62nd minute of play. Kenyon senior David Palchak (Marshall, MI) booted the ball to the right side of Spartan goalkeeper Chad Skidmore (Centerville, OH) guessed wrong and dove to the left. Case freshman Kevin Bigart (Naperville, IL) nearly tied the game up with four minutes remaing as he drove a free kick from 30 yards out just over the right side of the goal.
The Spartans will play their second UAA game this weekend when they travel to New York City to take on New York University on Saturday.
