CLEVELAND, OH (October 1, 2005) - The Case Western Reserve University men's soccer team opened up University Athletic Association play this afternoon at Case Field with 1-1 tie in double overtime against Brandeis University (6-2-1, 0-0-1 UAA).
Brandeis found the back of the net first at the 15:45 mark with a goal from freshman forward Ed Colburn (Dover, MA). The Judges goal was Colburn's third on the season and was assisted by junior forward Mike Snyder and sophomore defender Brett Fitzgerald.
The Spartans tied things up at one a piece at 25:18 when freshman forward Kevin Bigart (Naperville, IL) headed one in off a corner kick. For Bigart, it was his sixth goal of his rookie season. He leads the way in scoring for Case with 12 points. Senior midfielder Jarrod Predina (Seven Hills, OH) recorded the assist.
The Spartans, 5-3-2 (0-0-1 UAA) on the year, host Kenyon College on Wednesday at Case Field at 7:00 p.m.
