MEN'S SOCCER —2004

CLEVELAND, OH (October 22, 2004) - The Case men's soccer team fell 2-0 to Penn State Behrend this afternoon in Erie, PA.

The Spartans, now 2-10-2 and 0-4 in the UAA, went down by a goal in the 21st minute when Isen Scholze scored for Penn State Behrend. Case hung tough, but a Justin Reese goal off a penalty kick in the 65th minute put the Spartans away.

Case and Penn State Behrend each managed 14 shots apiece, but it was the Lions who were able to get two past Spartan goalkeeper Chad Skidmore (Centerville, OH). Skidmore made five saves in 75 minutes of action before being replaced by sophomore Justin Elszasz (Perry, OH).

Eric Gushurst (Portage, MI) and Justin Casella (Johnstown, PA) each had three shots apiece to lead the Case attack.

The Spartans have the upcoming weekend and will next be in action on Friday, October 29th when they host the University of Chicago in a 1:30 p.m. match to be played at Regina High School in South Euclid, OH.
