2007 NCAA CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS...
CLEVELAND, OH (November 17, 2007) -
Case Western Reserve University junior Dominic Smith (New Richmond, OH-pictured) placed 51st out of 280 student-athletes at the 2007 NCAA Division III National Cross Country Championships at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN.
The 18-year-old Smith finished strongly at his first national championship race with a time of 25:26, just one second behind Jon Gries of Calvin University. Dominic had an incredible season as he finished in the top-ten in every race but nationals.
Smith won three straight events earlier in the season, as he was victorious at the College of Wooster and Sean Earl Invitationals and then was the Division III champion at the All-Ohio Championships back in October.
Dominic’s finishing time of 24:59 at the Loyola Invitational back in September was the fifth fastest performance in the University Athletic Association this season.
