ALL-OHIO CHAMPIONSHIPS...
CLEVELAND, OH (October 6, 2006) -
Case Western Reserve University sophomore Dominic Smith (New Richmond, OH-pictured) led the Spartans to a fifth place team finish today at the Ohio Intercollegiate Cross Country Championships (8k) hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University. Case had 134 points, while Mount Union College won (out of 22 teams) the Division III team title with a score of 58.
Smith finished eighth out of 147 runners with a time of 27:14.2, while teammate sophomore Mike Petro (Cincinnati, OH) placed 19th at 27:41.3. Case sophomore Jon Youngquist (Midland, MI) finished 25th (27:53.3) and sophomore Ryan Gjoraas (Plymouth, MN) 37th (28:09.3), to round out the men’s top four.
The Spartans are off until October 28 when they will participate in the 2006 University Athletic Association Championships at Washington University in St. Louis.
