MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY—2006


CLEVELAND, OH (September 30, 2006) - Case Western Reserve University 17-year old sophomore Dominic Smith (New Richmond, OH-pictured) led the Spartans to a second place team finish (88 points) this afternoon at the 34th Annual Loyola University-Chicago Sean Earl Invitational (8k). The 10th-ranked team in the nation, Nebraska Wesleyan, took home the team title with a score of 47.

Smith finished fifth overall (26:00) and teammate, graduate student Stephen Hrinda (Fairview, PA), placed sixth (26:01). Rounding out the Spartans top four were sophomores Mike Petro (Cincinnati, OH) and Ryan Gjoraas (Plymouth, MN), who finished 23rd (26:27) and 24th (26:30), respectively.

Case will travel to the All-Ohio Championships this Saturday at Ohio Wesleyan University.
