CLEVELAND, OH (September 23, 2006) -
The Case Western Reserve University men’s cross country team finished second this afternoon at the College of Wooster Invitational with 20 points. Ashland University (NCAA Division II) won the team title with a score of 10.
The Spartans had three runners in the top ten (out of 85) at Wooster. Sophomore Ryan Gjoraas (Plymouth, MN-pictured) placed fifth with a time of 27:14.00 (8k), sophomore Mike Petro (Cincinnati, OH) finished seventh with a time of 27:25.00 and freshman Austin Schmidt (Lexington, OH) placed ninth at 27:29.00.
The Spartans will travel to the Loyola of Chicago Sean Earl Invitational next Saturday (Sept. 30 @ 11:00 a.m.).
