2005 NCAA GREAT LAKES REGIONAL...
WILMINGTON, OH (November 12, 2005) - The Case Western Reserve University men's cross country team ran in the 2005 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional this afternoon at Wilmington College. The Spartans finished 11th out 34 participates with a score of 305. Calvin College won the team title with 46 points.
Case senior Stephen Hrinda (Fairview, PA) finished 9th individually out of over 200 runners with a time of 24:50.8. That earned him a trip to the 2005 NCAA Championships this Saturday at Ohio Wesleyan University. Spartan freshman Dominic Smith (New Richmond, OH) was the Spartans second highest finisher at 41st with a time of 26:08.3. The top runner was Tim Finnegan of Calvin, who ran the 8k course in 24:14.3.
Runners had to finish in the top six (minus team qualifiers) individually and in the top three, team wise, to advance to the 2005 NCAA Championships.
