SPARTANS RUN TO EIGHTH IN CHICAGO ...
CHICAGO, IL (October 1, 2005) - Senior Stephen Hrinda (Fairview, PA) ran to a second place finish overall, as the Case men's cross country team finished eighth at the 33rd Annual Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational. Case racked up 187 points compared to 93 for the meet winner Macalester.
Hrinda ran the 8k course in a time of 25:29, just three seconds behind the race winner Brian Taghon from St. Edwardsville. Also running well for the Spartans was freshman Dominic Smith (New Richmond, OH) who came in 15th in a time of 26:27. Ryan Gjoraas (Plymouth, MN) also finished in the top 50 in the meet as he came in 46th overall (27:26).
Case will next race in the All-Ohio Championships at Ohio Wesleyan on Friday afternoon.
