MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY—2005


CLEVELAND, OH (September 3, 2005) - The Case Western Reserve men's cross country team hosted the Fifth Annual Bill Sudeck Classic this afternoon and turned in a solid third place team finish. Allegheny College took home the first place spot with 34 points compared to 81 for the Spartans.

Taking the second spot overall was Case's Stephen Hrinda (Fairview,PA) who ran the course in 26:03.79, just seconds behind the race winner Chris Carrier (26:01.63) from Allegheny College. Finishing well in their first collegiate cross country meets were Case freshmen Dominic Smith (New Richmond, OH), who was 11th at 27:34.36, and Ryan Gjoraas (Plymouth, MN) who finished 19th in 28:10.68.

Other top finishers for Case included senior Jason Dudas (Solon, OH) who was 21st (28:14.11) and freshman Mike Petro (Cincinnati, OH) who ended up 28th in 28:32.10.

The Spartans will take next weekend off from competition and will be back in action on Saturday, September 17 when they travel to Penn State-Behrend in Erie, PA for an 11:00 a.m. meet.
