The Spartans recovered from a turnover on their first possession to score three touchdowns in the first quarter. The elder Sanchez was 18-of-31 for 255 yards and two touchdowns and had 13 carries for 84 yards and a touchdown.

Sophomore wide receiver Tim Cowdrick (Mentor, OH) caught a 28-yard touchdown pass to end [1:07] the first half and had five-yard touchdown reception at the beginning [12:25] of the second half to give Case a 35-point [42-7] cushion. Both passes were from Whalen as Cowdrick finished with two catches for 33 yards.
