We will hold seminars during the 2008/2009 academic year. Faculty whose schedules prevent them from attending a particular seminar should inquire about possibly attending via videoconference. This is the final year of the grant and so the Spring seminars will be faculty's last opportunity to apply for funds. Faculty who have already attended a seminar need not attend again to submit a proposal.
The seminar will address three elements, each of which is a critical component of a successful proposal.
-
- 1) Introduction to the initiative, including a discussion on how to work towards financial and programmatic sustainability of the project.
- 2) A presentation and discussion of the educational and informational technology currently available to Case faculty. The use of cutting edge technology is an important part of the grant initiative.
- 3) Educational innovation suited to international contexts, using examples from funded proposals as a resource for generating new ideas, teaching with technology, and fostering international student collaborations.
-
As stated above, we will discuss the need for both financial and programmatic sustainability. The goal is that funded projects eventually lead to programmatic institutionalization, ideally collaboratively among departments and faculty, rather than residing in a single faculty member or course exchange. |
