Dr. Anastasia DimitropoulosAnastasia Dimitropoulos, Ph.D. - Principal Investigator

Anastasia Dimitropoulos is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Case Western Reserve University. She completed her PhD in Psychology at Vanderbilt with specialization in developmental psychology and intellectual/developmental disabilities.  She received postdoctoral training in functional neuroimaging and clinical assessment at the Yale Child Study Center prior to her arrival at CWRU.  As the director of the NRL, her main research centers on understanding phenotypic characteristics of genetic neurodevelopmental disorders.  Current research projects include examining the behavioral aspects and neurobiological underpinnings of overeating in Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) and other populations at risk for obesity and exploring the social and behavioral difficulties in individuals with PWS that overlap with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Alan HoAlan Ho - Graduate Student

Alan is a 2nd year graduate student in the Experimental Psychology program at CWRU. He completed his BS in neuroscience at Emory University and is currently pursuing his interests in studying intellectual disabilities using fmri and cognitive/behavioral assessments.

James is a 1st year graduate student in the Experimental Psychology program at CWRU. He began working in the PWS lab as an undergraduate in 2007 and plans to do neuroimaging research in the future

Ben Feldman - Graduate StudentBenF

Ben is a first year graduate student in the Experimental Psychology Ph.D. program at CWRU, specializing in the study of developmental disabilities. After completing a Masters in Developmental Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University in New York, he worked for ten years as a Masters level clinician at Queens Centers for Progress in New York, servicing people with developmental disabilities. He received his BA from St. John's College in Maryland in Philosophy and the History of Science and did post-baccalaureate work in Psychology at Baldwin-Wallace College in Ohio.

Kelly is a 2nd year undergraduate at CWRU, majoring in psychology. She intends to later pursue social work in graduate school. She began working in the lab in June 2008 as part of the Neural Mechanisms of Obesity Study mainly focusing on data collection.

Angela is a 2nd year undergraduate at CWRU majoring in Psychology and Communication Sciences.  She joined our lab in October, 2008 and is a research assistant working as part of the PWS Social Characteristics Study. She plans to continue her education and get her masters in Communication Sciences and become a speech-language pathologist.

Nicole is a 2nd year undergraduate at CWRU, majoring in psychology and biology. She began working in the PWS lab in September 2009. She plans to continue her education and go on to medical school and into the field of psychiatry.

Brian FishmanBrian Fishman- Lab Coordinator/ Research Assistant

Brian was hired in 2007 as a research assistant whose role quickly grew to include lab coordination and data analyses. Brain completed his Master's in Biology in 2008 and is currently pursing a degree in medicine at LECOM in Erie, PA.

Rachel Kroner-Belson- Student Research Assitant

Rachel spent her senior year at CWRU examining speech and articulation problemsin Prader-Willi syndrome for her Senior Capstone project. She received her bachelor's degree in 2007 and is currently pursuing her MSW in social work from the University of Buffalo.

Jasmin Samini-Student Research Assistant

Jasmin is a CWRU undergraduate majoring in psychology and pre-med. She worked in our lab from Septermber 2006 to August 2007 primarily focusing in pilot data collection for the Neural Mechanisms of Obesity Study

Alina Saiakhova-Student Research Assistant

Alina is a CWRU undergraduate majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Artificial Intelligence.  She worked in our lab from June 2008 to May 2009 and was primarily involved in website development and maintenance. She plans to attend graduate school to obtain a Master's degree in Computer Science.
