My two Sections of Math 223:

Exam schedule: There will be three in-class exams and a final exam.

Midterms:  Friday, September 18; Friday, October 16; Friday, November 12.

Final:  Tuesday, December 8,  4:00--7:00 pm.

You must take all tests at the required time unless specific alternative arrangements are made. In particular, failure to take the final examination results in an automatic F in the course; only the Dean of Undergraduate Studies can authorize another arrangement.

Homework:  There will be regular homework assignments -- see the Class Schedule.  Homework should be completed by the class period following the date of the assignment.  (Solutions to the homework problems will be posted shortly after the assignment is discussed.)  Homework will be collected and scored on a 0-20 scale, based on clarity and legibility of answers, neatness and completeness, and correctness.  Doing homework conscientiously is the best presciption for success in this course -- keep in mind that the exams will be based to a large extent on these homework assignments.

Grades:  The three in-class midterm exams will each count 20% of the grade, and the final exam will count 30%.   The remaining 10% of the grade will be based on class participation and homework.
