Textbook: Applied Probability, 2e by Kenneth Lange

Topics: As it says in the title, this is a topics course. Specific material will depend on time and interest levels, but some of the general topics I have in mind are: Markov Chains, Random Matrix Theory, Brownian Motion/Diffusion, Convergence rates, Martingales. If there is something specific you'd like to see, by all means let me know.

Homework: You should do 4 problems per week, to be turned in in three collections throughout the semester. You may choose whichever problems you like from the chapter of the book being covered at the time in class; for topics from other sources, I will provide a list of problems to choose from. I will give corrections as needed; everyone's corrected solutions will be distributed to all students in class.

Grading: 60% of the grade will be based on howework. We will have a take-home exam worth 20% of the grade, and student presentations worth 20% of the grade.
