PhD Student receives major award
Congratulations to Rossana Occhipinti on receiving the Melvin H. Knisely Award. Rossana received the award on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at the Annual Meeting of the International Society on Oxygen Transport to Tissue. This is a major accomplishment for an investigator in a mathematics department. Learn more about the Melvin H. Knisley Award by clicking here.
First and Second Place at the Maa Ohio Meeting
Six Case students attended the MAA meeting at Bowling Green State University held April 3-4, 2009. Among other activities, they competed in the student mathematics competition. There were thirty-one three-person teams participating, representing seventen Ohio schools. We are happy to report that our team of Amalie McKee, Stephanie Cockrell and Fred Douglas took first place. The second place team (by one point) was our team of Michael Steward, Charles Pairan and David Kent.
Congratulations to them all!
