These pages are designed with English department and SAGES Graduate Student Instructors and Writing Lecturers in mind. In addition to the other Writing Resource pages, which provide information about the writing process and other relevant topics, these pages address the needs of graduate students and lecturers teaching writing at Case.
Important Documents
- > Fall 2007 Writing Instructors' Calendar - lists all of the important dates for staff meetings, consultations, and most importantly the "First Fridays" Happy Hour!
- > English Department Graduate Handbook - explains policies of the department, including procedures for training, mentoring, academic good standing, etc. (Scroll to the bottom of the page to download a PDF version of the handbook.)
- > Case Undergraduate Instructor's Manual - this online resource provides a variety of useful information, including Case policies and teaching suggestions.
- > Case TA Manual - this document (pdf) is available through the Educational Service for Students office. It provides answers to common questions for TAs.
- > Case International TA Manual - similar to the TA Manual, this version addresses concerns of International TAs.
- > Fall 2006 Writing Instructors' Orientation - these documents are PDF files, containing all of the materials used in the orientation sessions run by Kurt Koenigsberger for the incoming English Teaching Assistants and the SAGES Writing Co-Instructors.
- > Negotiating Writing Roles in SAGES Seminars - this document was created by a working group of faculty and writing instructors in AY0506; it offers useful advice for integrating writing (and writing instructors) into SAGES seminars.
- > Writing Outcomes for SAGES -this document provides English Department recommended writing outcomes for First Seminars and University Seminars
- > Diagram of Who We Are as Writing Faculty - this is a useful breakdown of who teaches writing under the new ENGL and SAGES system.
> SAGES and Writing 101 - overview documents contextualizing the 2006-07 writing programs in relation to the history of SAGES. A PDF file, from the December 2006 special meeting of SAGES writing faculty.
