Terrestrial and Aquatic Ecology for High School and Middle School Teachers (BIOL 802, 2 credits)

A 2-week summer ecology course (last two weeks of June) which takes place at the Squire Valleevue Farm Biological Field Station in Hunting Valley, OH. It is designed for teachers of grades 6-12 who have an interest in current ecological problems. Participants will learn field sampling techniques and identification of a diversity of living organisms. It is a team taught course with sections on field biology, aquatic ecology, and the ecology of reptiles and amphibians. Participants will receive supplies, field guides, and detailed laboratory exercises that are designed specifically for the classroom.
