Center for Civic Engagement and Learning
The Center for Civic Engagement & Learning serves as a clearinghouse for and coordinates the design, management and promotion of curricular and co-curricular student community service activities.
• Case SERVES
Case SERVES (Students Exploring Regular Volunteer Engagement through Service) is designed to offer students flexible, weekly opportunities to get involved in community service. Students can participate as their schedules permit—whether that's once a semester or once a week. Case SERVES Student Coordinators lead the volunteer groups each week and even provide transportation to the site via the office van. Projects have included helping children with homework and computer education at after-school programs, working on outdoor restoration projects, and assisting at a hunger center.
• Project STEP-UP
Through Project STEP-UP (Student Tutoring Effort to Promote Utilization of Potential), undergraduate, graduate, and professional school student's tutor and mentor elementary through high school pupils in classrooms, after-school, and evening and weekend programs. The program serves students aged 6-17.
