Stacy L. Williams, Ph.D. CCC -SLP   received her Ph.D. Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Cincinnati .  She began her career as a school based speech language pathologist in Cincinnati , Ohio for the Hamilton County Educational Service Center . While practicing, she began creating and customizing software programs for speech-language disordered children. Her current areas of expertise center around augmentative communication, technology and a variety of school based speech and language fundamentals.  Courses taught include: assessment and treatment of articulation/phonological disorders and integration of technology into the field of speech-language pathology. Currently, Dr. Williams is the Web Master and Instructional Technology Design Coordinator for the National Center for Speech-Language Pathology in Schools and serves as the Web Site Liaison Coordinator for the Ohio Speech Language Hearing Association.

Her research objectives focus on integrating technology into the field of speech-language pathology by providing clients and higher education SLP students with multimedia tools to make them more successful and efficient. Dr. Williams completed research projects include:

•  Use of technology for improvement of classroom behaviors for SED children

•  A meta-analysis investigating the effectiveness of distance education in allied health science programs

•  Simulated computer based training applications for increased carryover of clinical skills ( Awarded the Tompson-Delmar Award for Most Innovative Instructional Technology Project 2001 )

•  Use of the Internet by SED students to increase socialization and pragmatic skills.
