The CSPL projects focus on acoustic and articulographic analyses of disordered and normal speech production mechanisms, and also investigate processes of generation and implementation of prosodic parameters. The research is interdisciplinary and is carried out in collaboration with the joint Laboratory for Applied Research in Cognitive Semiotics, with other CWRU Departments and with national and international centers.
Research is developed for applications to improvement of assessment and treatment methods for speech disorders and other speech production deficits and to development of techniques for automatic prosody stylization in speech synthesis.
