Kyra Rothenberg studied both primary areas of communication, interpersonal and mass communication, in her graduate areas of concentrations. She has published work in cognitive communication, is an active member, contributor, and reviewer for the National Communication Association, the International Communication Association, the European Association for Communication in Healthcare, and the Coalition for Health Communication. Present areas of research include health information-seeking and channel use, the influences of communication in interdisciplinary settings such as medical/biomedical groups, and use of instructional interactive virtual reality.
