Martin Helzle is off for the 2009-10 academic year. His specialty lies in Latin poetry of all ages, but especially the Augustan age. He has written a book on Roman epic and is at present working on the second and final volume of his commentary on Ovid's "Letters from the Black Sea." He regularly teaches Latin literature in the original and in translation, love-poetry, and palaeography.
