He received a B.A. in Classical Studies from Michigan State University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Classical Studies from The Ohio State University. He regularly teaches upper level Greek and Latin, both lecture and SAGES courses dealing with Myth and Heroes, and Greek and Latin palaeography and epgiraphy. His research interests and publications are in the areas of Greek and Roman New Comedy, Hellenistic Culture & Society, and Greek Epigraphy. His work on the latter area was primarily as a Long-Term Contributor (1990-2005) to the Packard Humanities Institute Greek Epigraphy Project, a database of Ancient Greek inscriptions which may now be accessed at: http://epigraphy.packhum.org/inscriptions/. He is currently working on a book entitled Tragoidizing Life: Menander and the Subversion of Tragedy.
