The text is a fragmentary census inscription, probably Diocletianic in date, cut into a cylindrical monument located in the area of the modern village of Perissa on the Aegean island of Thera. Digamma appears in numerical sums in lines 4, 12, 13, 14 and 15. The form of digamma used is that classified by M.N. Tod as Form 8 (), but it is often so poorly rendered by the stonecutter that it appears as . It is easily distinguished from sigma, which is rendered in this inscription.
