Liquid Crystal Day at Kent State University

The following message was sent in by faculty at Kent State University:

We are writing to invite your junior/senior physics and chem majors to
come for a visit to Kent State University on Friday, October 12, 2007, for
a special event called "Liquid Crystal Day." A flyer is attached. This is
a fun opportunity for students to learn about graduate study and summer
REU programs at the Liquid Crystal Institute.

Activities will include invited talks by distinguished researchers in
the field, laboratory tours at the Liquid Crystal Institute, student
	presentations, and a poster session.

Registration is required but is free, see http://www.lcd.kent.edu.
Travel support is available for undergrads and they can also sign up for a
free welcome luncheon with LCI faculty and grad students. To make these
arrangements, they should contact Lena Lopatina, student co-chair of the
	meeting, at lena@lci.kent.edu.

Faculty, postdocs and grad students are of course also welcome to attend.
We'd be grateful if you could pass the word to members of your department
who have research interests in soft matter physics and chemistry.

Registration and poster submission are open at http://www.lcd.kent.edu.

	Many thanks!
