Dr. Srinivasan Nominated for Wittke Undergrad Teaching Award
Organic chemistry lecturer Rekha Srinivasan was nominated for the 2009 Carl F. Wittke Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching. This was her second time receiving the nomination. In the organic chemistry laboratory, she instructs students in synthesis of interesting coumpounds such as ferrocene and luminol, as well as pharmaceuticals like the precursors to bupropion hydrochloride (Wellbutrin®) and fluoxetine (Prozac®).
Dr. Srinivasan often teaches CHEM 233 and 234 in the fall and spring, respectively, as well as both courses during the summer sessions.
