Rooms and Projectors
Chemistry lectures are generally taught in Technology-Enhanced Classrooms (TEC), which often include ceiling-mounted digital projectors, document cameras, and laptop computer connections. These rooms are booked through the Registrar's Office. A full list is available from ITAC. Schmitt Auditorium, Clapp 108, Clapp 201, and Clapp 305 are the rooms we use most.
The Department of Chemistry controls the following rooms. Faculty and grad students can book them by contacting one of the department assistants or secretaries. Please specify the date, start time, end time, individual in charge, and general purpose for requesting the room so that we may prioritize properly.
|Clapp 205||small conference room||8||Conference table (8 office chairs), whiteboard, and bookshelf. No projector screen.|
|Millis 220A||small conference room||12||Conference table (8 chairs), 4 standalone chairs, projector screen.|

|Millis 123 (Hovorka room)||large conference room||40||L-shaped room with conference table (8 chairs), 2 chalkboards, 32 standalone chairs, projector screen.|
These specific rooms do not have built-in technology enhancements. The department offers two digital LCD projectors on carts which can be attached to portable computers (see below).
Digital LCD Projectors
The department owns two digital projectors which faculty and grad students may borrow for faculty meetings, lab group meetings, oral qualifying exams, PhD defenses, and so forth. They may be reserved either alongside the rooms above or independently by contacting one of the department assistants or secretaries. Please specify the date, start time, end time, individual in charge, and general purpose for requesting the projector so that we may prioritize correctly.
The graduate and undergraduate lounges are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. All we ask is that you keep them clean and orderly and be mindful of students who wish to study.
