No one knows what to say Doc. You meant more to more people than you will ever know. You are why I am a chem major, why I am still at Case, and a great part of why I am in school at all. Letters and words on this wall can't begin to express the pain in our hearts or the tears shed over your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. -nrs

Seeing this wall and the testaments others have given is hardly evidence to the impact you had on so many people. You epitomized Case for me and it is difficult to think of campus without you. What saddens me most is to know your presence will no longer be felt by any other following classes -- no more quips to be shared or names to be memorized. I can only aspire to live with the grace and elegance you did. I don’t speak alone when I say you helped make my first year as meaningful as it was, and for that I will be ever grateful. Doc - it is going to be tough walking near your office knowing that i can not stop in to chat with a man i dearly respected and whose company I always loved. You have helped me out so much through the years in and out of the classroom. You were a true friend in the greatest sense and you will always have a special spot in my heart. I knew something was up when you told me exactly what you did a week b4 your surgery and I am sorry I mislead you, but I new you were a tough guy with a big heart. I was hoping things were gonna turn alright and the only thing that turned out alright was the fact that everyone knows how many lives you have touched and the impact you have had for this university. Doc, you were truly an inspiration to everyone that knew you. As the entire Case campus mourns the loss of a man that was endowed by God with sincerity and love for all people, a remarkable intellect, and a dedication to helping students reach their full potential, I will be sad, but at the same time I will think of the memories I have of you and how fortunate I was to be able to get to know you and to be taught by you.
