The Horticulture Science Center, with more than 15,000 sq. ft. of laboratory, office, and greenhouse space, is a modern research facility and greenhouse/headhouse area that houses the Science and Research Department.  Laboratories are undergoing renevations and are currently configured for plant genetics, molecular ecology, biogeochemistry, and soil/plant analysis. The Holden Natural Areas consist of approximately 1,500 hectares of mature forest remants, including some of the best remaining examples of Beech-Maple and Oak-Maple forests in Ohio. Some of these forest remnants are part of the National Natural Landmarks program.
