Rebecca Benard, Ph.D.

Instructor of Biology

 

Rebecca Benard is an instructor at Case Western Reserve University. She received her B.S. degree in Evolution and Ecology from the University of California, Davis. She continued on at Davis where she earned her Ph.D in Ecology in 2005.  Her graduate work focused on the mechanisms driving the seedling establishment of a desert perennial shrub (Ericameria nauseosa: Asteraceae) in the sand-dune ecosystem at Mono Lake, CA. After earning her doctorate, Dr. Benard was a lecturer at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. In the fall of 2009, Dr. Benard joined the faculty in the Department of Biology at Case Western Reserve University where she plans to focus her attention on undergraduate teaching.
