Application Deadline: February 23, 2007
Up to eight full-time faculty
members (any rank, any department, any school) from Case or members of other University Circle institutions will be awarded scholarships of $5,000 (total award amount) to participate in the Baker-Nord Seminar. The scholarship may be used to support any aspect of the Seminar Scholar's research. Awards to Case faculty members may be used toward the cost of a teaching release only if the Seminar Scholar's department chair approves (notice of the chair's approval must be included with the application). Note that the Baker-Nord Center cannot provide travel advances, nor can it provide additional support for fringe costs or for additional services in conjunction with the use of the funds (e.g., if the Seminar Scholar were to use the funds to host guest lecturers). The deadline for applications is February 23, 2007. A selection committee will announce awards by the end of March.
All monies/support associated with this award must be expended by March 30, 2008.

the Seminar Scholarships are a part, click

outcomes from the Seminar. Our hope is that the Seminar will
take on a life of its own, invigorating the intellectual lives
of its participants by providing a interdisciplinary and genuinely
collegial context in which to discover new avenues critical
inquiry.
The Baker-Nord Center
welcomes applicants to consider how their own scholarly work
in progress would tie into and expand on this theme in ways
that open up new avenues for research and creative work in the
humanities.
