Up to $2,500 is available
in support of semester-long group projects (thematic colloquia,
focused reading groups, etc.) culminating in a day-long symposium
at the Manor House on Squire Valleevue Farm.
Approved projects will be oriented
primarily toward scholarly research rather than curriculum or
administration. Proposals
are welcome at any time.
Although faculty participants may be drawn from any school or department at Case as well as from other area institutions, at least one of the faculty leaders will be a member of a department within the College of Arts and Sciences.
Proposals for Manor House Symposia may be submitted by email
or campus mail and should include the following details: (1)
the faculty leader(s); (2) a description of the focus (including
a proposed title); (3) the tentative schedule of sessions (number
and frequency of meetings, beginning and ending dates, the
nature of the meetings [discussion around texts or issues,
presentations of work-in-progress, etc.]); and (4) an initial
list of faculty members who have indicated that they would
participate.
Upon completion of the symposium, a copy of the symposium program and a brief report must be submitted to the Baker-Nord Center.
