BAKER-NORD CENTER
FOR THE HUMANITIES

Visiting Collaborators Program

The Visiting Collaborators Program will provide funds (up to $8,000) to bring a faculty colleague from another institution to campus for a short-term visit in order to collaborate on a research and/or teaching project. The deadline for applications for collaborations during spring 2006 is October 28, 2005. Preference will be given to visitors with whom a faculty member is actively collaborating on a scholarly project.

While here, in addition to working with their hosts, it is expected that visiting faculty will participate in other University activities, such as presenting departmental seminars and meeting faculty and graduate students in relevant areas.

Funds will cover travel, accommodation, and a reasonable honorarium for a minimum of one week and a maximum of two. The Baker-Nord Center can work with the faculty host to make travel and accommodation arrangements as needed. Hosting faculty and departments will be expected to take charge of the visitor's program while in Cleveland.

Funds will be available for use in the spring of 2006.

Applications should include the following information:

  • Applicant information (address, phone number, email)
  • letter outlining the proposed visit
  • vita of the proposed visitor
  • courses to which the visit will contribute
  • description of teaching and other activities while in residence
  • dates of visit
  • budget
Application Deadline: Deadline Extended to October 28, 2005
