The following lists courses not open to auditors. For the most part, these are laboratory, practicum, or independent study courses.

  • Anthropology: ANTH 307; 308; 339; 370; 396 excluded; all courses numbered 500 and above excluded.
  • Art History: All classes excluded. Members of the Cleveland Museum of Art may audit CWRU Art History courses through the museum's audit program.
  • Art Studio: ARTS 295; 366; 465; 466 excluded.
  • Astronomy: ASTR 203; 221; 222; 306; 309; 310; 311; 327; 328 excluded; all courses numbered 400 and above excluded.
  • Biology: BIOL 214; 215; 216; 300; 301; 304; 313; 315; 339; 344; 346; 363; 375; 376; 377; 395; 396; 550; 569 excluded. (All laboratory courses  excluded.)
  • Chemistry: CHEM 113; 233; 234; 290; 304; 305; 317; 322; 331; 332; 397; 398; 417; 430; 445; 448; 470; 475; 479; 491; 492; 502; 507; 508; 511; 523; 605 excluded. (This includes all laboratory courses.)
  • Classics: No excluded courses.
  • Cognitive Science:  No excluded courses.
  • Communication Sciences: COSI 452 excluded.
  • Dance: No excluded courses.
  • English: ENGL 148; 180; 181; 367; 368A; 368B; 368C; 374; 375; 380; 390; 392; 395; 398; 399; all 400 and 500 courses excluded.
  • Geology: GEOL 390; 391; 392; 512; 601 excluded.
