The Alumni Association of Case Western Reserve University invites you to join us as we explore the natural heritage of amazing Costa Rica! Under the direction of an expert Costa Rican naturalist, our tour will move from rainforests to volcanoes, from the Central Valley to the Pacific coast, as we take in this small nation’s rich bio-diversity and celebrate its wealth of natural resources.
The tour begins in the Costa Rican capital of San Jose. Enjoy a guided walk along national park trails to view the world’s largest crater at Poas Volcano, followed by a visit to the Doka Coffee Estate. Travel northward to the Arenal Region and your lodge, for spectacular views of the Arenal Volcano. As you enter the Cloud Forest region of Monteverde, home to a diversity of birds, mammals and plant species, including hummingbirds, bats and 420 kinds of orchids, a sky-walk tour offers a unique perspective from high above the rain forest floor.
