The Summer on the Cuyahoga program is an exciting experiential learning opportunity. High-quality, paid internships are combined with community introductions, alumni networking opportunities, housing, and civic and social events.
The program is the result of a partnership between Cleveland area alumni of Case Western Reserve University, Colgate University, Cornell University, Harvard University, Princeton University, Smith College, and Yale University. Initiated by Yale University alumni, the Cleveland area alumni association chapters of the other universities joined the efforts to promote the professional, civic, and social offerings of Cleveland area to the bright young people of each university.
Students live on the Case Western Reserve University campus while working at various internships provided by alumni or corporate partners of the universities. Students apply for the individual internships and the employers decide who will participate in the Summer on the Cuyahoga internship program.
Aside from the great experience provided at the internship site, participation in community events is arranged. Events include political and business discussions, cultural and community service opportunities, casual alumni events, and social gatherings at Cleveland 's fun and trendy hotspots. Students are also paired with a local host family who serve as another connection to the Cleveland community. Click here for 2008 SOTC photos!
