Alumni Association of Case Western Reserve University will be seeking nominations for Board of Directors starting June 1st
The Alumni Association is seeking outstanding alumni leaders to represent the interests of the university's diverse alumni population and articulate its mission to other alumni and friends of the university.
There are eighteen members of the association's Board of Directors who represent the diversity of the alumni community in geographic representation, age, gender, culture, race, religion, schools, and colleges. A Board member is expected to participate actively and consistently in Board functions and to demonstrate leadership in a variety of university volunteer activities. A complete description of duties is available on the University Alumni Relations web site.
To nominate yourself or another highly qualified alumnus or alumna to serve on the Alumni Association of Case Western Reserve University Board, please complete this form. Please complete a separate nomination form for each person you would like to nominate.

University Releases Details of Upcoming Yearlong Celebration of Darwin 
Case Western Reserve University is planning a yearlong celebration to help mark the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth—and the 150th anniversary of the publication (November 24, 1859) of his influential book On the Origin of Species—and has launched a Web site with the first details of events
to be conducted on campus from fall 2008 to summer 2009.
To celebrate the Year of Darwin—in honor of the British naturalist who proposed that evolution was the process by which current species change over time and new species arise—Case Western Reserve will host a series of lectures that demonstrate the importance and wide applicability of evolutionary ideas and approaches in varied spheres of intellectual and practical endeavor. Annual university events will adopt this theme and faculty may incorporate related issues into their courses. Details on the Darwin Celebration are now available online. Full Story

Flora Stone Mather Alumnae Association,
" A Fond Farewell"
Join the Flora Stone Mather Alumnae Board and association members for the final meeting of the Flora Stone Mather Alumnae Association on June 7, 2008, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Squire Valleevue Farm in Hunting Valley, OH.

The 114th Annual Meeting and Brunch will mark the last official gathering of the Flora Stone Mather Alumnae Association. All FSM alumnae are encouraged to attend this important event designed to celebrate the vision of Flora Stone Mather and the many accomplished women who followed in her footsteps.
According to Sandra Vondanoff, FSM'59 and current board president, as quoted in the 2008 spring edition of Mather Musings, " No one needs to say goodbye! The campus, the Alumni House, and the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women are open and welcoming to all."
Alumnae are encouraged to register by May 28.

Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations
The Mandel Center sponsors an active Alumni Association with more than 700 members worldwide. The alumni network is an extensive peer-to-peer resource. The Mandel Center Alumni Association presents several social and professional development activities each year. The Alumni Association recently endowed a new Mandel Center Scholarship Endowment. The Alumni Association developed and participates in the Leadership in Nonprofit Management award. This award seeks to honor individuals who embody the principles and ideals that inspired the establishment of the Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations. Each year the award is made at a luncheon, which now attracts several hundred attendees. The award has gained recognition as a premier event in Cleveland’s highly regarded nonprofit sector.

Don't forget to put The Alumni House on your schedule of spots to stop during Circle Village 2008 and the annual Parade the Circle on June 14, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The Alumni House will be open for light refreshments and tours throughout the day. All alumni and community members are encouraged to stop in with friends and family members to see the wonderful new space that Case Western Reserve University graduates now call home.
University partner, Liberty Mutual, will also be on-site with the "Safety Ape"; giving away prizes and sharing important public safety tips with parents and children.
