UNIVERSITY'S WEEKDAY E-NEWSLETTER NOW AVAILABLE TO ALUMNI

Case Western Reserve University's office of University Marketing and Communications is launching a newly designed version of its weekday e-mail newsletter and offering alumni an opportunity to subscribe.

Introduced about a year ago as a means for the university’s administration to communicate with faculty, staff and students, Case Daily has become an integral part of the university community’s daily dialogue. Last fall, more than 600 faculty, staff and students responded to a reader survey and, as a result of their feedback, a new version of the newsletter is being launched this month.

The new version is a more streamlined, two-column format with graphic enhancements, allowing readers to more easily scan the university news.

The daily includes special announcements; general campus news; information for faculty, staff and students; details on events; and references to university media coverage. Now the newsletter will feature, among other additions, photos and graphics—including a full monthly calendar that links to a comprehensive university event listing—and profiles on the programs and people—such as alumni—who help make the university great.

Should time-sensitive news unfold that must be communicated with campus, subscribers also will receive a Case Daily Extra, a single-message version of the newsletter, in addition to the full daily issue.

Alumni who wish to receive the daily can subscribe by entering their e-mail address in the "subscribe" box on the lower left of the newsletter Web page at http://blog.case.edu/casedaily. Subscribers receive an e-mail notification of the top story and a link to the full Web site each time an issue of the daily is released.

For additional information or to share a story idea for the daily, send e-mail to case-daily@case.edu.

College of Arts & Sciences

As I transition into my permanent role as dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, I want to thank all of you for your support and encouragement over the last six months. I am looking forward to continuing my work with the College's remarkable faculty, staff, students, and alumni to further research and teaching in the humanities, arts, and sciences at Case Western Reserve University.
