NITISHA SAMANT, MGT'02, VOLUNTEERS TO CONNECT STUDENTS AND ALUMNI

Nitisha Samant, MGT'02, is in the center of this photo taken at the Cleveland Networking Event. As an international student studying on a visa, the journey from Case to a full-time position at Accenture was a very long one for Nitisha Samant. For two years, as she was waiting to receive her permanent residency, Nitisha kept herself in the loop by attending career fairs. After a recruiter from Accenture called to set up an interview, Nitisha referred to the Case student directory and contacted alumni working for Accenture. Though she had never personally met any of these individuals, the wealth of information and support she received was amazing, and she ultimately was hired.

Nitisha graciously volunteered to host a Cleveland Networking Event downtown at Accenture's office overlooking Public Square. The event was a great success; more than 100 students, faculty, staff, and alumni met and mingled. Nitisha enjoys Cleveland's combination of “big-city amenities with small-city charm” and feels it is important to connect students with local businesses and alumni. Nitisha was very happy to be a part of helping others the way others had helped her. She also offered great advice to attendees: “What will distinguish you from the next brilliant person is who you know, and who knows you.”

Thank you to Nitisha and all of Accenture for sponsoring this wonderful event.
