AAP Interviewer's Check List
Before Interview
Confirm
time and place for meeting with the student.
Review
sections for student's intended major in the Case Bulletin, at http://www.case.edu/bulletin/.
Review
section in AAP manual, "Interviewing Prospective Students," II. section
2.
Review
section in AAP manual, "General Information on Case," IV. sections 1-4.
(Review details about the Pre-Professional Scholars Program) If your
student does not call you in two weeks, please contact Molly!
During Interview
Ask student
to complete and update interview form.
Encourage
the student to relax and enjoy the interview; build rapport.
Ask open-ended
questions about the student's interests, accomplishments, activities,
and goals. Listen and respond to his/her responses.
Share information
about Case when appropriate but avoid the "hard sell."
Share your
experiences and thoughts about Case where appropriate.
Bring
the AAP manual for reference during the interview.
Respond
to questions you know and write down questions you can't answer.
Enjoy
meeting and getting to know your student! Be positive and supportive,
but don't promise admission to anyone.
