To all Alumni Forum Participants:
Please accept our sincere thanks for participating in the Alumni Forum, July 24 -25. The invaluable dialogue at this forum will act as a catalyst to move us closer towards the creation of a bold, new alumni organization at Case Western Reserve University. As we spoke with many of you throughout the weekend, it was clear that the you were engaged in honest, exciting, and thought-provoking discussions about the vision, mission, and values of Case Western Reserve University. Again, we thank you for your enthusiasm and your leadership in this process.
For those of you, who would like to be considered for a position on the Task Force, please complete the attached Leadership Profile. The Task Force seeks to expand its membership to include representatives from each of the identified stakeholder groups. If you have already submitted a leadership profile, we thank you for your interest. All leadership profiles are reviewed by the entire Task Force and, if selected, alumni are contacted by a current Task Force member and invited to participate. To learn more about the Task Force and read all past Task Force communications, please visit the Alumni Forum website at www.case.edu/alumni/forum/tf.html .
We recognize that the goal of creating a strong, unified alumni organization needs to be an inclusive and measured process. We were stimulated by each workgroup's discussion over the weekend and will use the summary of the reports in addition to the market research completed by the university to lay the groundwork for our future discussions.
As a reminder, we will be asking each alumni group and each workgroup to address the following questions.
- What relevance should your workgroup have in the new alumni organization?
- Should your workgroup be part of the formal structure of the new alumni organization?
- How might your workgroup best be represented in the new organization?
It is the intent of the Task Force not to dissolve existing organizations, but to ensure cooperation and build a strong alumni organization that represents all alumni with one active and powerful voice.
We have included the workgroup names and participant affiliation. The scribes and facilitator from each workgroup will follow-up with their participants to arrange a conference call to address the follow-up questions.
The Task Force will be contacting each alumni group with a summary of the Alumni Forum and a request to address the same set of questions.
