JANUARY 11, 2010

FEATURING:

Dr. Ziad Shaman
(Pulmonary and Critical Care, MetroHealth Medical Center)

Dr. Vidya Krishnan
(Assoc. Director, Center for Sleep Medicine, MetroHealth Medical Center)

EVENT INFORMATION:

One-third of Americans are losing sleep over the state of the U.S. economy and other financial concerns, according to the 2009 poll by the National Sleep Foundation (NSF). While January’s Science Café Cleveland session may not fix your financial troubles, it will clarify the importance of Sleep Science in the current state of sleep in America.

Do you tend to wake up throughout the night from nightmares and terrors? Does your bed partner complain that you snore, talk, or move excessively in your sleep? Do you ever wonder why you don’t feel refreshed and motivated in the morning? Or maybe you catch yourself falling asleep during the day and need to fuel up on endless cups of coffee to keep yourself going. If any of these seem familiar to you, there could be a simple explanation. You might be suffering from a sleep disorder or a related condition.

If you’d like to learn more, come join us to discuss the world of sleep and how you can improve your life through a good night’s rest. In addition to hearing from experts in sleep disorders, you'll get the perspective of a woman who has experienced firsthand how the treatment of a sleep disorder can be a life-changing experience.
